This smoothie is perfect for starting your day strong, with a powerful combination of natural sugars, vitamins, minerals + healthy fats and protein to keep you feeling satisfied all day. The almond milk, fruits, and vegetables are a great source of vitamins and calcium, while the pumpkin seeds and hemp hearts will provide some high-quality protein, essential fatty acids, and tons of minerals like iron, zinc, and manganese! Ingredients:
- 1 cup (250 ml) unsweetened almond milk
- 1 ripe banana, frozen
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) chopped mango, frozen
- 1-2 large handfuls of baby spinach
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) pumpkin seeds (Pepita seeds)
- 2 tbsp (30 ml) hemp hearts (hulled hemp seeds)
- optional: 1/2 scoop vanilla protein powder + 1/4 cup water
Blend until smooth and enjoy!
Notes:
For nut-free milk, replace the almond milk with oat, rice, soy, hemp, or coconut milk For more protein – add an extra scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder If you don’t have any banana, substitute with 2/3 cup frozen mango or peaches
